LIHUE (HawaiiNewsNow) – If you’re heading to Wilcox Medical Center on Kauai Wednesday morning, you will probably see picketing nurses.
Nearly 160 nurses are planning to hold a demonstration from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in Lihue.
They’re calling for safer staffing levels for quality patient care.
The nurses and management have been negotiating for five months.
The Hawaii Nurses’ Association is hoping to use the recently signed contract at Kapiolani Medical Center as a model for Wilcox and other hospitals.
