  • Condition: This RARE 1895 S.S. STEWART THOROUGHBRED #15266 Open Back 5-String Banjo is in good overall preowned antique condition! Shows expected age/use related wear, surface scratches/rust, debris, etc. Mother of Pearl inlay on peghead, frets and tuning pegs. Neck is straight and has custom engraving on the back near the heel! Three Star Brand DUPLEX head is in surprisingly good shape! Light rust on some of the shoes/nuts. Not playable currently. Includes old case, some books on playing the banjo, sheet music, lessons/songs, Joan Baez concert flyers, letter regarding Guy Carawan returning to the Ash Grove coffee shop on Melrose in LA on Ash Grove letterhead, tools, finger picks, etc. Please also see item description and photos for more detail as they are part of the condition description...

    is in good overall preowned antique condition! Shows expected age/use related wear, surface scratches/rust, debris, etc. Mother of Pearl inlay on peghead, frets and tuning pegs (couple small pieces missing on a couple of pegs). Neck is straight and has custom engraving on the back near the heel! Three Star Brand DUPLEX head is in surprisingly good shape! Light rust on parts of the hoop and some of the shoes/nuts.
