This is a Vintage Framus Contessa 5 string Banjo that is all original with a gig bag.  This has been fully inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description
This was made in the 1960's in Germany by Framus.  This is a really interesting vintage 5 string Banjo.
The neck and the resonator and shell are all maple.  This has a nickel tension hoop with an aluminum flange and armrest.  There is some really attractive design to the flange and armrest as well.  This does have a nickel tone ring which is a big plus, this banjo does have a little bit of sound.  The banjo has a rosewood fretboard with dots and original tuners.  Everything is functional and this even has the original head and I believe the original bridge.
This is definitely an interesting piece of history that is all there with a gig bag.
Condition
The banjo is in great shape and couldn't have been played much.  I see essentially no actual wear.  The pot looks great with a really clean resonator.  The neck and fretboard are both clean and the frets look almost untouched!!  The original head looks untouched and everything about this is in great shape.
This is a great opportunity to get a really cool and rare vintage banjo.  This was made in Germany in the 1960's and is all original.
