Description
Visit my store, for a wide-ranging and eclectic assortment of cultural Americana. This item
consists of one lot of twenty-seven vanity and dresser accessories or related. It is stuff my wife bought to resell. I think I've managed to find all there is. At least I hope so because these items are not among my interests. They should go to someone that appreciates them and/or knows how to market them. I'll try my best to describe what's here. From left to right: one, not very significant drink coaster, glass and metal, marked Made In Japan; one safety razor with celluloid handle. I can see only partial patent number, issued in 1932. Apparently "Insert Key" suggests it had a special tool for opening. Above the razor is a white Bakelite or celluloid Auto-Strop Safety Razor case which does not fit the razor. Above next is a men's hairbrush, as shown. To its right lie a matching mirror and brush set decorated on their obverse by a pink, floral, plasticized pattern. These look misleadingly wavy in my photos. Next is a Florsheim Shoes shoehorn, real horn, marked hand made in Scotland. Next is a celluloid mirror that matches the tray, and an unrelated metal hairbrush. The small, round tin contains Cuticreme for tinting and polishing fingernails. Next sit one metal-handled and one white Bakelite handled ________________ (I haven't a clue what they are!). And, at top-center is a white Bakelite handled mirror. Its solid pound of weight will keep your shoulders toned. The pretty little heart-shaped box is white plastic and was the former home of a nice piece of Coro jewelry. Below the heart is an ultra-thin, presumably marbled celluloid soap dish. To its right lies a rather ingenious mirror capable of doing what you need it to do, sit, hang, or clobber. Under the mirror is a pretty little hairbrush and to the right is an unmarked metal compact with a loose mirror. Then a pink plastic handled mirror and three white Bakelite or celluloid bowls with lids. The larger of the three is heavier than it looks. Lastly, three celluloid-handled tools, one from a manicure set and two for tightening high-button shoes (?). I don't know what the small metal thing is, perhaps a hair curler. It has two patents, 1895 and 1899. Any questions? I am at your service, ladies. Oh, almost forgot...this will be a 9-lb package and I'm giving you two options for mailing. If you're close, like in NYC, select standard Priority Mail. If you're in Beverly Hills or Seattle, select Priority Large Flat Rate Box as the less expensive option.
To those watchers I disappointed by canceling this auction - I sincerely apologize but please put yourself in my position. From where I sit, it looked like I was about to sacrifice 0+ worth of attractive vintage items for ten-bucks. My wife would have been a very unhappy ghost.
UPDATE: I added another mirror and another hairbrush to the group (last two photos).
All of my items come unconditionally guaranteed. This means I won't settle for anything less than your satisfaction.
