  • Religion: Judaism
  • Country/Region of Manufacture: United States
  • Condition: There is light brownish staining /toning primarily at the center top and center bottom areas of the print. I believe this is caused by vapors/gases from the non-archival corrugated cardboard backing. Also what looks like soil spots right of the Rabbi's back.A good restorer could clean and replace cardboard backing. I know/use one in Atlanta area I could recommend.

    Description

CYRIL SATORSKY (1927-2007)  "Rabbi Nahum" from Pride of Rabbis linocut print
    Signed in pencil and #98/100
The image is one of the characters in the book, Rabbi Nahum. This print is not from the book, but a larger version and apparently from an edition of 100. The last photo is a screen shot from the Albright Knox Gallery website, where I found images from the book and poem about this curious character.
    Love the cork mat board!
