This is a Prodigal 5 mandolin that was made by Crafters of Tennessee.  This is all original and clean and includes a gator skin hardshell case.  This has been inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.

Description
This is an absolute top of the line mandolin.  Only 18 of these exist and originally these cost ,000 new.  This mandolin is a copy of the only A style mandolin made by Lloyd Loar.  This is all original and sounds and plays great!!!  This particular mandolin happened to be made on the anniversary of the date that the actual Loar Mandolin was made in the 1920's.  The tuning keys are original and were upgrades which were done at the time.  Most of the Prodigal 5 mandolins did not come with these upgraded tuners.  Again they are original.  The original pickguard is in the case.
This is a curly maple mandolin.  The neck is also curly maple with an ebony fretboard.  The fretboard has dots and white binding.  The headstock is inlaid with Prodigal and the number 5 along with a Tennessee truss rod cover.  The tailpiece has an engraved cover with the word Prodigal in the engraving.  This is truly a gorgeous, top of the line mandolin that is not easy to find.  This looks great, sounds great and plays great!!!  This also has a Gator Skin hardshell case which I believe is original.
Condition
This is in extraordinary condition.  The body looks great with almost no signs of wear.  The neck and fretboard are also clean.  The frets themselves have very few signs of use and what is on the frets is only on the first few frets.  This isn't mint but it is in really good shape, very clean and looks incredible.  This has been set up and also plays great!!  This is the type of mandolin that would please any player.
