Cmdr. John R. Leenhouts, executive officer of Attack Squadron 72 (VA-72), pilots his A-7E Corsair aircraft over the desert on his return flight to the aircraft carrier USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV-67) in the Red Sea after a strike on Iraqi targets during Operation Desert Storm. Each camel painted beneath Leenhouts' name on the side of the aircraft represents a strike mission flown during the conflict. Circa 1991.
