    Description
Japanese instrument manufacturers of the 1970’s were working tirelessly to copy and even outdo American instruments that were made at that time.  Some of the Banjos from Japan in the 70’s are today called Masterclones because they did such a good job of duplicating the Gibson Mastertone of the 1970’s.  This also features a Vine inlay which really takes it over the top.
This has a thick multiply maple shell with a rosewood resonator and maple neck.  There is white and abalone binding on each side of the neck and resonator which bear resemblance to the Stelling Staghorn.  The fretboard is rosewood with a Vine inlay.  The hardware is all chrome and all original including a one piece flange and 20 hole full size tone ring.  This banjo has got some serious pop and bang!!!  The banjo is all original and also includes an original hardshell case.
These Old Vintage Japanese Banjos have a following and there is a Facebook Group called Vintage Banjos Made in Japan for lovers of these vintage luxuries!!  Check it out!
    Condition
This banjo is in phenomenal shape and has also been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse.  The banjo has been disassembled and all of the metal has been buffed to a nice glow.  The wood has also been waxed to a shine.  The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled and is in great shape.  There is some fretwear on the first few frets but the rest of the frets look untouched.  There are spikes at the 7th and 9th frets.  This is in fantastic shape and also has a clean original case.
    Set Up
This has also been set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.  This has a new Huber frosted head by Remo which is set to 90.  The bridge is a Kat Eyes bridge and is set with correct intonation.  This has new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings which are set with comfortable action for fast playing and lots of tone and volume.
This banjo absolutely is a superior instrument to a 1970’s Gibson RB250 and is also a more attractive piece.  This has been prepared and set up to look, play and sound its best.
