    Description

1952 - 1953 General Motors The Story of Fisher Body BOOKLET RARE Original
The Story of Fisher Body - A Tradition of Craftsmanship
An exceedingly rare booklet published by the Fisher Body Division of General Motors in 1952-53.  Black & White, but well-illustrated with many detailed photographs.  13 pages, 5-1/2" x 8-1/2".  The first page of this booklet describes its contents as follows: "
    A TRADITION OF CRAFTSMANSHIP
    - The story of Fisher Body is a stirring chapter in the history of America's industrial progress.  It had its humble beginning in a blacksmith's shop in a small community where men worked with their hands to fashion a product to sell to their neighbors.  Within a generation it had become the largest industry of its kind in the world.  It is the story of six Fisher brothers who faithfully followed the precept that quality of product is the first essential to success.  It is the story of the large group of master craftsmen and men with forward-looking vision who joined them along the way, implementing and continuing this precept.  Together, these men built an organization that leads the motor industry in improving the comfort and safety of the motoring public, an organization that has made Fisher Body known throughout the world for its integrity, its foresight, and its ingenuity."

This booklet seems to have been produced various years (1949 booklet had 20 pages and 1960's booklets had color) and since they are chronicling the history of the companies achievements and noting dates... I'm approximating the age since on the last page it notes, "Fisher Body delivered the first completed T-48 tank to the Government on April 28, 1952. That, in conjunction with the other items from this collection is how this date is given. If it is off then it's known as an approximation. If you care to share with me any further knowledge I'd appreciate it.
Keep an eye out as I have a number of similar pieces going up for auction!!
