HISTORY: Originally founded as a pro-Bolshevik Socialist Camp in Brampton, Ontario outside of Toronto in 1925 by JEWISH IMMIGRANTS it remained a left wing enclave adhering to the teachings of Morris Winchevsky under the mantle of the UJPO (UNITED JEWISH PEOPLES ORDER), a SOCIALIST fraternal organization of Toronto Jewish tradesmen. Visiting celebrities included Tim Buck, leader of the Canadian Communist Party, Pete Seeger, Phil Ochs and Paul Robeson. Changed somewhat physically and philosophically it still operates to this day.
